Identification of differences in transcript abundance among 2 or more sources of RNA. mRNA analysis ranges from 3’end to whole transcript, including alternatively spliced variants. Additional products are available to assess miRNA.

|Typical Output||Over 40,000 RefSeq transcripts and over 10,000 lncRNAs are compared in a single gene expression experiment.
Over 30,000 mature miRNAs are compared with the latest miRNA arrays.
Data quality and group comparisons are assessed statistically and provided in a brief report. Raw data is exported as .CEL files and in an Excel spreadsheet. Help is available for submitting the data to external repositories (e.g., Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) at NCBI).
|How to Request||Login through https://client-seqcore.brcf.med.umich.edu and then choose “Sample QC” to submit samples. On the page showing Service Requested, select one of the Bioanalyzer RNA chip options. In the “Reason” pull-down menu, choose “Affymetrix Microarray Submission”. Add additional information (e.g., “Please run RNA on Human Gene 2.1 ST Array”, “Samples are for Mouse Clariom-S”, etc.) in the “Additional Notes” section.|
|Sample Requirements||Standard Processing: recommended – 400 ng; allowable range 100 – 500 ng (i.e., 10 – 50 ng/ul).
Low-input Processing: recommended – 5 ng; allowable range 0.5 – 10 ng (i.e., 1.67 – 10 ng/ul).
Please provide at least 10 ul.
|Typical Turnaround||3 to 4 weeks, however, timing is dependent on availability of arrays, which are purchased as needed.|
|Critical Information||RNA quality and concentration are confirmed for an additional fee before beginning any Microarray project. Please consult with the Manager before submitting samples that are known or suspected to be of low concentration or highly degraded (i.e., from FFPE sources).|
