Huira Kopera, Ph.D.

Huira is a Research Investigator for the Vector Core. She grew up in Chicago and received her bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University. Huira attended graduate school at the University of Michigan in the Department of Biological Chemistry (with Kun-Liang Guan) studying the Ras/MAPK signal transduction pathway. After receing her Ph.D. she worked as a post-doc with John Moran in the Department of Human Genetics, studying human retrotransposons.
